When Chossing a New Cleaning Company For Your Office, Here Are 5 Great Questions to Ask the Representative

1.  Is your company fully bonded and insured?  Every bidder should be able to furnish you with a copy of their business' proof of general liability insurance, surety bond, and workers compensation and employee liability insurance.  The certificate should be up to date and the company should be willing to provide you with a new copy annually when their policy renews.

Anago of Western PA is fully bonded and insured with a $5,000,000 General Liability Policy, along with Automobile Liability, Workers Compensation and Employee Liability along with a Surety Bond.

2. What is the Salespersons' level of experience?  If the salesperson has never actually "swung a mop" or cleaned a commercial building, how accurate could their bid be?  They are simply plugging the squarefootage of your office into a formula and spitting out a price.

The Anago of Western PA sales staff go through the same top-notch training as the people who do the actual cleaning .  This includes both classroom and on the job training.  Plus our sales staff are out periodically in the evenings and on the weekends working side-by-side with the janitorial staff that is servicing your facility.  Our bidding process may look the same as the others' as we walk through your facility, but the Anago of Western PA sales department is trained in observing key-cleaning-indicators, which are factors outside of square footage that affect cleaning times.

3.  How is the janitorial staff trained?  Don't select a company who tosses the staff a policy manual and a 10-minute cleaning video and says, "It's just cleaning, it's not that difficult."

Anago of Western PA embraces training as an opportunity to instill the ideals of the company into anyone who will be servicing or supervising your facility.  From a 20+ hour classroom training program, to on-the-job training, to monthly training on timely topics, we believe education is a key to success.  Additionally, a member of the Anago of Western PA operations staff will be on-site during at least the first night of cleaning to help do some hands-on training specific to your facility.

4.  Once the contract is signed, who is the client contact and how easy (or hard) is it to reach them?  Sometimes janitorial services use the hit-and-run method to customer service.  They get you to sign the contract and then never want to see or talk to you again.  Worse yet, sometimes your contract is sold to another contractor, who may or may not have the same insurance coverage, skills or equipment that the original company promised.

At Anago of Western PA our we make customer service are top priority.  You have the cell-phone number of your sales representative starting at the first meeting.  Once sold, you will be assigned a member of our Operations/Quality Control staff, and will receive their cell-phone number.  Our office is open M-F from 8:15am - 5:00pm.  Additionally Emails are forwarded to smart-phones well into the night.  Finally you will have the cell-phone number of the person directly responsible for the janitorial services at your facility.

Also a member of our Operations/Quality Control staff will be regular on-site inspections at your facility.  This will be an additional opportunity for you to voice any concerns or ask any questions.  The staff member will the relay your concerns to the janitorial staff prior to the next scheduled cleaning.

 5. How do I keep track of when the non-nightly cleaning tasks are going to be performed?  Some items like certain dusting and cleaning emergency stairwells are not cleaned on a nightly basis.  It's easy for them to be forgotten about ('swept under the rug' if you will).

Anago of Western PA uses a Cleaning Calendar and Master Work Order system to track when these non-nightly tasks are to be completed; keeping the client and the cleaner on the same page.
